How the match works

You describe it once. We do the vetting.

  1. 01

    Tell us the project

Scope, rough budget, timeline, ZIP. Two minutes, no account, no phone tree. You describe the problem in your own words and we take it from there.

  2. 02

    We match by hand

We hand-pick one to three vetted firms that actually do your kind of work in your area. Your details stay with that short list, so your phone stays quiet.

  3. 03

    Compare on equal footing

Each pro quotes the same scope, so you are weighing real, comparable numbers side by side. We stay reachable the entire time you decide.

  4. 04

    We stand behind the intro

If a matched firm drops the ball, you tell us. A company that earns a real complaint loses its standing in the network. We track every match we make.

02

Why hiring is the hard part

The remodel is rarely the gamble. Picking who does it is.

The bid you cannot read

Two quotes, wildly different numbers, and no way to know which one quietly left out the permits, the waterproofing, or the structural work. Price alone tells you almost nothing.

Fifteen calls from one form

You fill out one form and fifteen strangers call for a week straight. Most directories sell your number to whoever pays, whether or not they do your kind of job.

The license nobody checked

A logo on a truck is not a license, and a license is not insurance. Most homeowners never confirm either, then find out the hard way after something goes wrong.

The reviews you cannot trust

A wall of five-star ratings is easy to buy. A reference from a finished job down the road, one you can actually call, is not. Few people know which is which.

05

For remodeling companies

Run a remodeling company? We are the other half of this.

Homeowner matching is free because remodeling firms pay us to grow them. Web that books jobs, local SEO, branding, ads, and a steady feed of matched homeowners. One partner who only knows this trade.

What "vetted" actually means here

  • Active state license confirmed for the trade and the place the work happens
  • Current general-liability and workers-comp insurance verified at the source
  • Recent-job references actually called, one by one
  • Workmanship and complaint history reviewed before a firm is let in
  • Re-checked every year, and again any time a homeowner raises a dispute
  • No pay-to-rank. A firm earns its place on fit and track record alone.

The experience we are building

What a good match sounds like.

Illustrative scenarios that show the homeowner and partner experience the network is built to deliver. We publish named, verified reviews as real projects complete.

I had already been burned once. They put me in front of two firms that had genuinely done bathrooms like mine, both showed up, both quoted the same scope. Night and day from the Google rabbit hole I started in.
Marcus & Dana R. Matched: bathroom remodel · Austin, TX
We had a hard lease deadline on the cafe. They matched us with a commercial crew that worked nights and held the date. I did not have to interview ten companies to find the right one.
Priya N. Matched: commercial fit-out · Chicago, IL
We are a small ADU builder. Their team rebuilt our site and got us showing up in San Diego searches, and the homeowners who come through actually want to build. Real projects, every week.
Luis O. Network partner: ADU builder · San Diego, CA
Two years ago we chased every lead on the internet and most went nowhere. Now matched homeowners find us and the marketing runs in the background. I got my evenings back.

The questions everyone asks first

Is Remodeling.Agency free for homeowners?

Yes. We never charge homeowners. Vetted firms fund the network, which means we are paid to make good matches. The matchmaking and the vetting cost you nothing.

How do you vet the remodelers?

We verify an active state license and current insurance, review each firm's workmanship and complaint history, and call references from recently finished jobs. The standard is strict, a firm clears every check or it does not join, and we re-check every year.

Do you do the construction yourselves?

No, on purpose. We are independent, so we have no in-house crew to push you toward. We match you with vetted local firms and stay out of the build, which keeps the recommendation honest.

Will you sell my information to a bunch of contractors?

Never. Your details go to a short, hand-matched list, usually one to three firms that fit your project, and they stay there. That is the whole promise.

What does a remodel cost in 2026?

As a 2026 benchmark: kitchens commonly run $27k–$90k, bathrooms $12k–$35k, additions $200–$275 per square foot, and ADUs $100k–$250k for a detached unit. Use our cost estimator for a range, then we match you with pros who work in that band.
